Two Dots Tips and Hints
To win at Two Dots requires focus and perseverance. Below are five tips, tricks and hints to help you advance to the next level of Two Dots. Remember, this game is fun to enjoy yourself as you move from level to level!
1. Squares are KEY
Simply put, you’re not going to make it very far in this game unless you make it your main focus to create squares. Just like in the Dots app, forming squares is the best way to get rid of a bunch of dots while using fewer moves. This is crucial in the harder levels, where you have to be making squares almost every move to win. Because of this, your strategy should not be to form the longest chain of dots, but instead to manipulate the board so that you are able to form squares as early into the level as possible.
2. Keep an eye on your objective
It can be easy to get so caught up in forming squares that you forget the goal of the level and end up failing. Make sure you’re always paying attention to how many moves you have left, and how close you are to the goal. For example, if you only need to get two more yellow dots to beat the level, don’t waste your last moves making a red square.
3. Use bombs conditionally
Bombs essentially serve as randomizers. They’re excellent if you want to get a bunch of new dots on the board, but not so good if you’ve carefully planned your moves based on the dots currently there. Make sure that when you use the bomb you’re not messing up any other important moves you had planned.
4. Start from the bottom
If there’s no easy square you can make on the board, get rid of the bottom dots first. The new dots coming in will then have a higher chance of forming a square with the dot clusters at the top of the board.
5. When in doubt, use the reset trick
A lot of the hardest levels in the game are almost impossible to win if you don’t start with a square on the board. Luckily, there is a way to ensure you start with that advantage without losing lives. If you keep failing a hard level, instead of restarting it, go back to the map. Go back to the level again and look at the board (but don’t start playing!). If it seems too tough, you can go back to the map and return to the level again to shuffle the dots. You can do this as many times as you want without being penalized, so long as you never touch the board. Use this to start out hard levels on the right foot and lose fewer lives!

One way to avoid losing a life seems to be switching back and forth between different levels (don't re-play a level) or if you're desperate (say, during a Treasure Hunt) turn your device off, wait a bit and turn it back on.
This tip didn't work for me, just tried it multiple times and you will lose a life is you restart or if you exit to the map! Also, all the "cheat videos" say that level 32 is sink 10 anchors in 30 moves and it is 13 anchors in 30 moves, impossible when it only drops one or two anchors at a time!!! Almost time to delete this App and move onto something different!
It looks like the reset trick only works when starting from the map, if you die exit to the map first and then start the level. Boom, no lost life.
do you start playing before you exit to the map? Don't think it lets you exit without losing a life otherwise x
@Futuregirluk no,no and NO!
@ParvanBogdan: simply repeating "no" over and over is not helpful. I am having the same problem; please explain, HOW does one go about exiting to the map without losing a life?
@CanicheNoir I've found that this trick for exiting to the map without losing lives is NOT consistent from level to level. I'd say it works for me about two out of three times. Not sure why, but my guess is that it fails whenever I have played that level "regularly" first, then tried to do a "roll" (restart by exiting to the map).
